A Mix of Debates, Milk, and Exoticism
I must say, what an interesting day it was today. We started at 8 a.m. as usual but ended, this time, at 10:30 p.m. which is quite unusual for a scheduled activity. But let’s go back to the beginning.
We were this morning welcomed by a set of fruit and yogurt with cereals. And hamburgers. Even in the morning we get to taste what it is like to be an American. With our bellies no longer empty, we headed to our last Tech and Innovation class. We experienced debates with some questions harder than others. Later that day we met Bob, who is currently Greenfield Community College’s President. We learned how community colleges were developed in the country and discussed about whether they should or not be free. The majority voted for it to be free while taking the state of Colorado as an example. Why this state do you ask me? I don’t know, ask Alex our Greek comrade.
When classes were over we went to this wonderful restaurant that had some delicious suggestions on its menu but a quite interesting name: Milkweed. After having this real treat for our taste buds, we went to the Museum of Fine Arts. Wasn’t it closed at this hour?
We didn’t go there to admire its works of art but rather listen to them. The Garifuma Collective happened to give a concert and what a remarkable moment it was. The music was so catchy many of us stood up from their seats to dance along the rhythm the percussion instruments were making. We went back to the dorms tired but still with one of Garifuma Collective’s song playing in our mind.
