Up to Imagination and Interpretation
As a photo journalist of the day I captured some really wonderful moments that lens may or may not present the way they were. If only a picture could talk, yet again that is why photography is so powerful. It is up to ones imagination and interpretation.
Today we had a chance to volunteer and work with people who have any kind of disability. While discussing about how important it is to spread the idea of equality, the most important thing all of us learned is that these are not disabled people. They are not defined by their disability. They are the same as us. Boost Collaborative is one really humble and carrying organization which helps people with disabilities and gives them a chance to be normal members of our society. Together with them we agreed that only when the world starts to see these people as normal, and not valuing them by their disability, it will be our bright future. Just an awesome experience, helping the ones that truly need it.
After our volunteering we hit the road and went to Lewiston, Idaho to tour the Lewiston Tribune. It's pretty amazing to see a newspaper that back home we learned about, it's like... unbelievable! To hear about the dynasty and see where everything is happening, the vaults with the editions that date from 1901, printing machines and so many other old things. It was like being in time machine and seeing real treasure. We went through every section of the newspaper, we were asking so many questions and really had a most welcoming feedback. Being an independent newspaper nowadays is hard, really hard. So I said thank you to them for doing their jobs as journalists the way it should be done, takes courage and a lot of nerves to do that.
This wonderful Thursday we decided to end with a mini hike. There is something spiritual getting closer to the sky and saluting the sun as it goes to sleep.
This for me is an experience I will cherish forever.
