The Spirit of American Culture
Could a Saturday be better spent than by attending a local tradition like Farmer’s Market? This market was established at 1976 and it’s great to see that it goes on with the same, or maybe much more, enthusiasm.
We headed to Moscow at 10 a.m. When we arrived there, we saw that it was full of people and stands and products of all types. It was nice to see such a variety of things by taking in consideration the fact that they were all local, fresh, handmade and full of love. There were food stands where peers of mine had the chance to experiment and try new food for the first time. There were arts and crafts stands where all the things starting from jewelries to soaps and other lotions were all beautifully and carefully prepared, grabbing everyone’s attention and enticing people to buy at least something from each stand.
During the festival, we even got to interact and share our SUSI experience as well as our cultural background with some locals, who were happy to hear from us and gave us the best of wishes. One of them was a couple, both professors now retired, who had had the chance to visit Albania the previous year. They had had a great time there and said that the place was appealing. We didn’t hesitate to invite them to visit us and we are now looking forward to hopefully seeing them again.
That was our delightful weekend activity for this Saturday, a day spent outdoors and at the same time inside the spirit of the American culture.
