Endless Sunsets and Smiles
This day has started a bit tougher than others, I'd say, because of a combination of going out with a group for the first time and breakfast at 7:30am. But smiles are just spreading more and more, even if it's hard to get up!
Today was our first real education day. We had two classes with devoted teacher, Dave Wasson, in which topics that we covered were media freedom and First Amendment. An important part of our classes is engagement so we really discussed a lot, especially about the situations in our countries and in America as well. These kind of interactions can really be helpful in fostering group bonding as we are figuring out that we are experiencing same things in our countries in regards to media. We are also learning new knowledge and terms and discussing them after classes.
Beside classes, we always have some pretty interesting activities to do. Today we had our first outdoor lunch --barbeque and laying on beautifully green grass with live music going on. It was really good and tasty lunch! We filled our stomachs with ribs, sausages or hamburgers and we enjoyed the warmth of the sun.
We saw for the first time live music broadcast at the local Northwest Public Broadcasting. At the show, called Jam with Dan, musicians gave us pure emotion through folk sound. It was a live session in a unique but also intimate studio. I was also very impressed by other people that were part of an audience cause they were so happy just by listening to good rhythms and lyrics and they could find joy in a little things. The second part of the day was actually really covered with music. There was a concert in a park and some of the group went there after live broadcast while a few of us went to Walmart. We actually had a plan to come back for a concert, but since this supermarket offers a lot, we got lost in all those products a bit... It was fun! I'm actually glad that went because by the time we left, it was already sunset and one of our Student Ambassadors, Jovana, brought us to a hill so that we could see it better. It was so beautiful! This day couldn't end better! Wonderful Pullman with a wonderful sunset! Luckily, there will be more of them. This kind of sunsets are part of Pullman!
