A Jolt of Caffeine
It is well known that caffeine has a stimulating effect in our brains. Each of us SUSI students were offered "Apple flavored" gifts right in the morning, which may or may not have resulted in abandoning daily caffeine habits for some. As a matter of a fact, they were such a shock to the systems of the European pupils that the caffeinated equivalent of such would probably have driven us to the emergency room!
Recovering from the feelings of being loved yet spoiled children, we got to participate in another heart-warming activity: meeting most of the local host-families at a welcome luncheon. It felt truly pleasant to encounter such lovely and friendly folks!
In the afternoon we were taken to a Chattanooga duck tour, which stands for experiencing a World War II aged vehicle that can travel on land and water. The tour was spiced up with some of the most exotic verdancies and ancient cave structures as well as unforeseen bird species.
All in all, I have personally not craved for a single morning cup of coffee since starting the program at the UTC. Impressive work, SUSI!
