The Deep Blue Crater Lake
As the days passed by and we got closer to the moment when we would leave Oregon for New Orleans, but we had to take one last excursion to a "must see” destination, the Crater Lake National Park.
We were expecting a full day and a trip that would last long enough, inside a classic American school bus with small seats. That’s why a stop at the second tallest waterfall in Oregon, the Salt Creek Falls, was the perfect thing to do. The view was breathtaking, but the time to enjoy the view and take pictures was so short, that we would rather need one day trip only for that.
After that we continued our journey. On our way to the Crater Lake we even had the chance to see some snow on the top of the mountains. For some of the students, it was their first time seeing snow!
Finally, after a three and a half hours trip we arrived at the National Park. In just a few seconds after we left the bus everyone went to see the landscape and the beautiful deep blue lake. Everyone had seen images of the lake before but being there and looking at it, was a whole different thing.
But our day was not over yet. We hiked for a half hour just to go to a spot where we could swim and jump to the water from a small cliff (with the risk of giving Karyn a heart attack).
When we finished our dives, we packed our bags and we headed back to the bus for our trip back to Eugene. It was definitely a day worth remembering!
