Day Two on the Coast

It's the second day of our amazing field trip to the coast! After a lazy morning we hopped into our three white vans and drove, to the sounds of best road trip songs ever invented, to the Oregon dunes.

There we were greeted by members of the local environmental organization, Oregon Wild, who took us on a short hike around the area. After a lunch by the most magnificent place a SUSI lad or lass could wish for, on the beach of the great Pacific Ocean itself, we took up tools and helped to clean out some invasive species from the dunes.

After the program we went hiking by the breathtaking coast ourselves, saw sea lions and a bald eagle, managed to get lost a few times, and then find ourselves again. For dinner, the kitchen crew helped to prepare some delicious curry and we ended the night by the fireplace on the beach.
