Making It Last Forever
Today was a roller coaster of emotions.
Apart from the sorrow in the air about the approaching date of leaving the town we now call home, everyone was very excited about this day.
Our Monday started with an amazing class on ecojustice. We focused on Native American communities and their struggle against a system that prevails monetary interests over nature and the voices of minorities. This class, although very sad, was really inspiring, enriching and truly significant in the process of broadening our knowledge about America’s reality.
As a preparation for Washington DC we also had the opportunity to present our Capstone Projects in the afternoon to those who have been by our side during this amazing journey. Although everyone seemed nervous about it in the begging, it turned out great and relief after the presentations was visible on everyone’s faces. There was an overflow of creativity and mutual support (+ snacks!).
The day came to an end while most of us played Tetris, trying to figure out how to pack for our departure on Wednesday.
The only thing that could make this program even better would be making it last forever.
