Peaches, Baseball, and Fireworks
Such an amazing day! Today we got the chance to celebrate an American national day --Independence Day! We were all dumbfounded by the atmosphere: the silence when the Declaration of Independence was being read, the pride and the complicity while singing the national anthem, the cheerful parade...
The Peach Festival was the opportunity to discover new tastes : peach ice cream, barbecue sandwich, and much more. But it also gave us an insight of the local life. This event was indeed festive and easy-going but it was also an opportunity for the local deputies to meet the public.
In the afternoon we went to a baseball game to see the Fireflies play. We got to discover the rules of this popular sport while having hot dogs and fries. Finally, we were been offered one of the most beautiful fireworks shows of our lives. This 4th of July was such a magic day that all the SUSIs still have their head in the stars (of the American flag?).
