Global Cooperation
“In the modern world, all countries become more dependent on each other. It’s already not enough to have just one nation to solve global issues of sustainable development. We need to build bridges, bridges between people and their beliefs, find common solutions, and respect the diversity of opinions.”
That was the main idea delivered to us during the official opening ceremony of the SUSI 2018 on Civic Engagement Institute. The speech was very passionate, and actually it explains the reason why we all came here! We all represent different countries and have a unique experience, educational background, and bright ideas. Sharing our vision of the world, we enrich help each other to look at familiar things from a new perspective and discover new details.
Right after the formal event, we had our very first academic classes! Actually, it wasn’t that hard, but was very informative and inclusive (thanks to Alisha!). We completed the personality test to understand how we perceive the world and had a little discussion on leadership styles, which I think is very useful knowledge for any person.
Generally speaking, it was an awesome day! We are slowly getting used to living on a new continent. In the evening, everyone finds something to do for themselves like swimming, jogging, going to the gym gym, having dinner at a local restaurant, or just taking a lovely walk across the city. So I guess we alreadyhave thousands of joyful impressions, and that’s not an exaggeration! But everything only begins…
