Environmental Protection and Story Telling

For the fifth day of the SUSI 2018 Europe, we had an academic day. In the morning class with Sandra, we learned about environmental legislation in the U.S. and especially its importance. What is more, we got to know the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), its duties, and the way it plays a key role in the U.S. environmental protection.

After the morning class at 11 am, we had to face a decision whether to have a sustainability tour on the campus of the University of Oregon or to see democracy in action by attending the town hall gathering with Senator Ron Wyden. Therefore, we split into two groups. For both programs we had two hours, so we were in a hurry to get as much out from our choice as we could.

As an ending of the day, we had a four-hour-long class with Todd Milbourn. He is the Co-Director and an instructor within the Journalism Master’s Program of the university. He led us to have a fascinating peek into the secrets of storytelling and gave the chance to try it out ourselves as "movie makers" as well.
