Returning with a Bag Full of Inspiration, Insight, and Eagerness
Today we said goodbye to the city of Eugene, that has been our home for the last four weeks, and left to go live new adventures.
The day begun with everyone rushing to finish packing their suitcases and then, after lunch, it was time to get in the bus and head for Portland. The last few minutes in Eugene were a bunch of mixed feelings: the appreciation and gratitude for everything we got to experience while in this city, the expectation of new great things still to come and the emotion of saying goodbye to all the amazing people who welcomed us with open arms.
After a few hours of travelling by bus, we arrived into Portland. Just a look at what surrounds us was enough to understand that we are now in a different environment. We are no longer in the small scaled and tranquil Eugene, this a city with capital C. After a few mishaps with our accommodation, we finally arrived at our hotel, with everyone already picturing a deserved restful night of sleep.
Every day since arriving to the U.S. has been marked by novelty and new discovers. Moments seem to pass so quickly, with me secretly hoping to be able to grab them and just enjoy for a little bit longer. It is also amazing to see how we moved from a group of complete strangers to a big united family, just by sharing our personal stories, cultures, and everything in between.
SUSI 2017 has so far been an incredible learning ride, which will make sure that I come back home with a bag full of inspiration, new insight, and eagerness to live more and do more.
