The most demanding week of the program began with a different feeling compared to the previous ones. After a weekend full of hospitality shown from our host families, and the realization that a dream trip to NYC was closer, the slight homesickness we might have felt was soon forgotten, and we were ready to give our best effort to the week ahead. The day started with a very interesting and interactive lecture from Dr. Katherine Karl about the principals of management and the characteristics of a good manager. This information will not only be useful for the rest of our stay in the United States, but most importantly for our careers in a few years.
Following our class today we had the opportunity to discuss the courage of two admirable ‘’next-door’’ women who worked really hard, and because of their hard work successfully managed to make their dreams come true by becoming entrepreneurs. The panel for the discussion included Mrs. Kristina Montague from the ‘’Jump Fund’’ who developed the topic of Venture Capitalism and specifically worked to activate many promising women in the field of entrepreneurship. The day ended with some group work and practice for our upcoming projects!
