Making a Positive Impact
Like any person who comes to United States for the first time, you are very exciting about what you are going to see. There are many differences between Europe and America. For example, Americans use their cars constantly; you can go out and you don't see anybody on the street.
Meeting a lot of local people from different spheres of life is the best thing. Here, you can take their experiences and apply it at your home country. In Chattanooga, we have already met a couple of remarkable people whose impact we can feel; they prompted us with questions that pushed us to think deeply.
As we explored the city, I enjoyed learning about how it has changed over the last 30 years. We met with representatives from social entrepreneurship companies and non profit organizations. We gained a better understanding of their organization's structure and rules within which they work, and they helped us see problems and advantages of our similar organizations back at home.
I also admire the great work that was done in order to bring us here. It was amazing to realize how many people are involved in this process, and how many tasks need to be done for successful completion of the program. It makes you to think about what you can do for them in return. And then, you realize if you can change your little world with new ideas, if you can inspire somebody as they inspired you, that will be a great reward for them.
