Full on Culture
After almost two weeks in Chattanooga, I concluded that the food the university (maybe universities) provides us is very unhealthy compared to the Netherlands. Of course, students have the free will to choose to eat healthy food or not but when unhealthy food is offered, students will choose unhealthy food because usually it is more delicious. After all food diversities, the culture shock was not that shocking anymore.
The campus life in Chattanooga is very different from the Netherlands. Having a huge campus area with all facilities, buildings and friends around you on walking distance is a student paradise. For example, all days are fully scheduled (which is a good thing), after class it is easy to catch up with the guys and walk to the gym. The lessons in general are very well scheduled and the breaks are just in time. All the lessons are different with constantly new influence, discussions and mind sets with all the divers people in one class. All in all, the most important thing I have learned for so far is communication; communication is vital to understand and connect people.
