One Fun-Filled Friday
On Friday, the 24th of June, we had an amazing workshop with Kaimana Chee, a Hawaiian Chef, who plays the ukulele and sing amazingly! The day started with some ice-breaking games such as "Never Have I Ever" which revealed not only the tremendously humorous character of Kaimana, but also some deeply sad stories of the SUSI Leaders (never had a smart phone, never seen the sunrise??).
After the games and some sort of artwork about our interests and passions, things went more serious. Kaimana handed us some action-planning workbooks where, based on our passions, we actually created our own project samples with SMART goals and resources.
After lunch, we talked about the stakeholders and the actual risks of implementing a project. This is the part where things between Greece and Russia became really intense and ended up in an unexpected happy marriage, accompanied by the beautiful song "My Girl" performed by Kaimana and his wonderful ukulele! We are so looking forward to meet him again in Washington, DC!
It was also a significant day for the SUSI program since Aleksien celebrated her birthday! The surprises started early in the morning with presents from Ray, the participants and lots of hugging! At the end of this full day, all together dressed up, we went to Thirsty Fellow for a delicious dinner. After all the pizza and burgers, a super American cake appeared on our table for Aleksien to blow out her candles. This wonderful night was completed by giving to Aleksien a big American flag signed by all the participants and some unique dance moves!
Without doubt, Friday was a good day!
