Chattanooga The Beautiful
One of the best things about the SUSI program so far is the beauty of Tennessee’s landscape. What hit me on the drive from the airport to our dorms is how wild and green Chattanooga is. In 1969, NBC announced to the country that Chattanooga was “the dirtiest city in America”, the city was literally asphyxiated by smog. The people and entrepreneurs of the city worked so hard to make it so beautiful and to improve the quality of the air.
I went for a hike this Wednesday and on the top of the hill, when I saw the incredible view, the clear water of the Tennessee river downside. This made me realize how important it is to preserve the environment of our cities and find a balance between the economic and ecological welfare.
